The Language Commons facilitates excellence in language learning and teaching at UVA by providing spaces, resources, and programming. In the Language Commons, UVA language instructors can hold class and program activities using our many spaces, utilize our ibtiKart instructional materials, and consult with LDT instructional designers. Language learners can access online resources any time, or visit the Commons to hold meetings, participate in our events, and use the international TV, small library, games, and study spaces. In collaboration with partners such as UVA world language programs, the Institute for World Languages, and student organizations, the Language Commons offers innovative programs and activities to support UVA’s language learning and teaching community.

Location: The Language Commons is in the New Cabell Hall 298 Suite.

Hours: We are open 9:00AM - 9:00PM Monday through Thursday, and 9:00AM - 7:00PM on Friday. We are closed on weekends, university holidays, and all academic breaks.
