Description:

With each student having access to their own computer and high-quality headset, a variety of listening activities are possible in the lab. The instructor can listen to paired/group discussions through Virtuoso, and offer correction and advice on the use of the language.

Suggestions include:  

• Transcription and translation of short pieces of news clips, song verses, etc (individually, with paired feedback and whole-class review)
• Close exercises: each student works at their own pace, but has access to peers and individualized instructor comments, for occasional check-in and feedback.
• Using textbook and/or authentic materials to complete listening activities at your own pace, with guidance from instructor re: strategies to make comprehension more successful.
